The Smash Ball, and Final Smashs

Here are some cool screenshots that have just been released of the item called the Smash Ball. This item, after appearing, hovers about the stage until it is repeatedly struck and broken by a player, who absorbs it. As you can imagine, things can get pretty hectic when a Smash Ball appears on screen, with all the players chasing after it and hitting it. When will it break? Who will retrieve the Smash Ball? This is important because when you absorb the Smash Ball you are given the chance to perform your character's Final Smash (an often devestating attack if executed properly,) by pressing the standard special move button. It is possible that you may lose this chance if you are struck by a character before you've performed the move. Your character loses the Smash Ball, and the chase is on again. Check it out.

A new feature has been announced: it's called Pity Final Smash. When a certain point is reached where a player is losing really bad, their character will spawn with a Final Smash, ready to use. The Smash Ball is like any other item, and can be turned off at the Item Switch screen. If you really don't want to use them.

The inclusion of the Smash Ball has added all-new elements of strategy to an already top-notch game. With every Brawl update I want this game more and more, and believe me, that's saying alot!
